Trucount ("we", "our", "us") collects the following categories of information when you use our mobile application and website (trucount.in): account information such as your name, email address, and payment details when you subscribe; usage data including counts performed, feature interactions, device type, operating system, and app version; and images you voluntarily submit for counting or checklist verification. Images processed on-device in offline mode are never transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to provide and improve the counting and checklist features, to process subscription payments, to send transactional and product-update emails (you may opt out of non-essential communications), and to generate anonymised, aggregated analytics to improve our AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on encrypted servers hosted in India. We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, and regular security audits. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services for analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), payment processing, and cloud infrastructure. These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them.

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@trucount.in. We will respond within 30 days. You may also withdraw consent for data processing at any time, which may limit your ability to use certain features.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Trucount application or visiting trucount.in, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use our services.

2. Service Description

Trucount provides an AI-powered mobile application for counting objects and verifying checklists against photographic evidence. The service uses computer vision technology including OpenCV and visual language models.

3. Accounts & Subscriptions

You must create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Paid subscriptions (Light and Heavy tiers) are billed monthly. Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice. All prices are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: reverse-engineer the application or its AI models; use the service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to circumvent usage limits on the Free tier; distribute, resell, or sublicence access to the service; or upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on third-party intellectual property.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, code, AI models, and technology within Trucount are the intellectual property of Trucount and its licensors. You retain ownership of images you upload, but grant us a limited licence to process them for the purpose of delivering our service.

6. Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive for high accuracy, AI-based counting and verification may not be 100% accurate in all conditions. Trucount is provided as an assistive tool and should not be the sole basis for critical decisions without manual verification.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trucount shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app or by contacting support@trucount.in.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 31 March 2026

1. Free Tier

The Free tier requires no payment and is not subject to any refund or cancellation terms.

2. Paid Subscriptions

You may cancel your Light or Heavy subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.

3. Refund Eligibility

We offer a full refund if you request one within 7 days of your first paid subscription purchase, provided you have used the service for fewer than 20 counts during that period. Subsequent billing cycles are non-refundable.

4. How to Request a Refund

Email support@trucount.in with your registered email address, subscription tier, and reason for the refund request. We will process eligible refunds within 10 business days.

5. App Store / Play Store Purchases

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, refunds are subject to the respective store's refund policies. Please contact Apple or Google directly for those requests.

Disclaimer

The information and services provided by Trucount (trucount.in) are offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the counting or checklist verification results.

2. Not a Substitute for Manual Verification

Trucount is designed as an assistive tool. Object counts and checklist results generated by the app should be verified manually for critical operations including but not limited to medical, pharmaceutical, safety, financial, or legal applications.

3. AI Limitations

Our AI models perform best under adequate lighting, with clear separation between objects, and using supported image formats. Results may vary based on image quality, object similarity, occlusion, and environmental conditions.

4. Third-Party Content

Our website or app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

5. Limitation

Under no circumstances shall Trucount, its directors, employees, or affiliates be held liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information or results produced by the application.
